Philadelphia Black Gay Pride

Philadelphia Black Gay Pride (PBGP) was first birthed at the COLOURS Organization, the only LBGTQ service organization in Philadelphia primarily by and for people of color. From PBGP’s inception in August 1999, COLOURS served as the official host of the PBGP festival until PBGP received its own 501 (c) (3) status in April 2004. PBGP has been a member of the Center for Black Equity (formally known as the International Federation of Black Prides) for the past 13 years. In November 2013, PBGP became a program of CBE to enhance administrative and programmatic support for the year round programming PBGP provides to the Philadelphia community and the festival related activities implemented during the annual University of Penn Relays Carnival.
